MRS. ALMA ESLICK (Alma Kristina Larsdotter Eng) CLAIMED BY DEATH

Funeral Held Sunday at Arthur Baptist Church

Native of Sweden

Alma Eslick, daughter of L. P. Eng, was born in Jung Forsamling Skaraborgs Län, Västergötland, Sweden. She passed away at the Winquist home in Kiron March 2, 1934 at the age of 61 years, 8 months, and 2 days. She came to America with her parents when she was ten years of age. On Nov. 10, 1889 she was united in marriage to Wm. Starring. To this union was born three children, two daughters and one son. The first year of her married life was spent in Nebraska and the following two years in Jefferson, Iowa after which she moved to Spokane, Washington. In 1920 she moved to Los Angeles, California.

In December 1913 she was married to Arthur Eslick who preceded her in death in 1923.

Mrs. Eslick was a very devout Christian. While residing in Jefferson she was baptized and united with the Christian church of that place. Some over a year ago she joined the Arthur Baptist church. She leaves to mourn her going her two daughters, Mrs. E. P. Haynes and Mrs. John Ahlberg both of Spokane, Washington, one son C. M. Starring of Los Angeles, Three grandchildren, also her aged father, L. P. Eng, her mother passed away last December, two brothers Alfred and Otto Eng of Ida county, two sisters, Mrs. Lena Carlberg of Storm Lake and Mrs. Frank Bucraft of Los Angeles, also a very large group of other relatives and friends.

The pall bearers were six nephews, Carl and Harry Eng, Levi and Leslie Carlberg, Wilbur Eng, Roy Carlberg. The funeral was held from her father's home, Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and from the Arthur Baptist church at 2 o'clock. Interment was made in the Arthur Baptist cemetery. The services were in charge of Rev. Ericson of the Arthur Baptist church and Rev. Faugerstrom of the Free Mission church of Kiron.
