OBITUARY - Myrtle Julia Clauson Waldemar was born February 20, 1908 to her Swedish immigrant parents, Alfred and Lottie Anderson Clauson at their farm home in Crawford County. Myrtle enjoyed young people as well as the older folks.

After completing her education she worked for various families caring for the elderly, assisting her parents with the farm work and caring for them in their later years.

Her Christian life began at an early age, being baptized on July 18, 1920 and accepted into membership of the Kiron Baptist Church where she retained her membership until the time of her death. She was an active member serving in various offices and as a Sunday School teacher for over fifty years.

Myrtle was united in marriage November 29, 1928 to Clarence A. Waldemar at Kiron. Their union was blessed with four children, Lowell, Ramona, James and Larry. They lived on the Waldemar farm north of Kiron and in 1930 moved to a farm in Stockholm Township now occupied by their son, Larry. Their later years were spent at their home in Kiron where they celebrated over fifty years of married life. Her beloved husband, Clarence passed away in 1983 and Myrtle moved to her home at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison in 1991.

She went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 27, 1993 at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 7 days.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence, one grandson Craig Waldemar and three sisters Edith O'Banion, Ether Clauson and Ruth Stehlik.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four children and their spouses, Lowell and Gretchen Waldemar of Hesperia, California, Ramona and Dennis Lochmiller of West Des Moines, Iowa, James and Elfrieda Waldemar of Odebolt, and Larry and Sandy Waldemar of Deloit, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one sister, Lillian Stehlik of Denison. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
