Mrs. J. E. Gustafson passed away at the St. Joseph hospital in Omaha Friday, August 27 after an illness of several months. She had been under medical care since early spring, also that of a special nurse but as she did not improve about two months ago she was taken to the hospital where she underwent an operation from which she never recovered.

Emma Carlson was born in Sweden, 10 March 1873. She came to America with her parents in 1881 and ten years later she was united in marriage to John E. Gustafson. To this union were born twelve children, eight of whom with the husband and father survive to mourn the loss of a true, devoted wife and mother.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 31 from the Ida county Baptist church of which she was a member.
