LEVI M. HOWDESHELL PASSES.
Death Comes Suddenly Saturday Night—Funeral at Home at 1:30 Wednesday.
Levi M. Howdeshell, for many years a resident of this community, passed away about midnight Saturday, Sept. 25, 1926, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ella Cease. Death was due to heart disease from which he had been a sufferer for some time. Although he had been about his usual duties up until the day of his death.
Levi M. Howdeshell was born Nov. 10, 1852, at Cherry Valley, Ill. He came to Nashua with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob R. Howdeshell, when but a small boy, and most of his life was spent here with the exception of twenty years residence in Minneapolis and three years in Wisconsin.
Three years ago he and his wife, Cora E. Hall, whom he married Nov. 13, 1889, returned to the old home here, where he quietly and peacefully sank into that long, last sleep, from which there is no awakening here.
He was a man of a retiring nature, very quiet, but of a kind and loving disposition, and will be greatly missed by those in the home circle, where he loved so much to dwell.
He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Wilber A. of Minong, Wis.; Frank of Nashua; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Cease of Nashua, and Mrs. Will Perkins of Lantry, S. D., and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday at 1:30 p. m., and the body was laid to rest beside his father and mother in Greenwood cemetery.Source Unknown – probably local newspaper
