Funeral services for Francis E. Brown, 72, Mechanicsville, were held Tuesday, June 6, 1989 at Turner Chapel East in Cedar Rapids, with burial in the Red Oak cemetery.

Mr. Brown died June 2 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids following a long illness.

The son of Frank and Emma Morgan Brown, he was born April 24, 1917 in Eddyville. He graduated from Bloomfield high school in 1936 and married Delphia Ogilbee April 30, 1944 in Yuma, Ariz. He was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Delphia; a son, Francis, Glendora, Calif.; a daughter, Jeanette Conroy, Alameda, Calif.; 3 sisters, Gladys Murphy, San Jose, Calif.; Thelma Long, Ottumwa and Phyllis Esser, Omaha, Neb.; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
