Funeral services for C. Glenn Brown, 89, retired West Branch businessman, were held at the West Branch United Methodist church May 4, 1989 with the Rev. Sang K. Ro officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery with military rites.

Mr. Brown died at the Crestview Care Center, West Branch, May 2.

The son of William H. and Louise Lehman Brown, he was born at West Branch Aug. 2, 1900. He married Arlene Kinsey at West Branch Jan. 10, 1923.

Mr. Brown operated a hardware store in West Branch for more than 40 years, retiring in 1964. He was a veteran of World War I, serving from Oct. 19 to Dec. 18, 1918.

Mr. Brown was a member of the United Methodist church, a past chief of the West Branch fire department, past president of the West Branch Chamber of Commerce, past president of the West Branch Lions club and former member of the West Branch City Council. He was also a member of the West Branch Heritage Foundation and the Retail Hardware association.

He is survived by his wife, a son, William H., West Branch; a daughter, Betty J. Orr, Coralville; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, 2 sisters and a grandson.
