Funeral services for Raymond H. Schnack, 79, retired farmer and former district court bailiff, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral Home Oct. 16 with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery near Bennett. Pallbearers were Reldo and Otto Schnack, Reg Jennings, Glen Conant, Howard Lausen and Lyle Grove. Patty Niehaus was organist.

Mr. Schnack died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Oct. 13.

The son of Henry and Elizabeth Cook Schnack, he was born near Bennett Jan. 29, 1907. He graduated from Wilton high school in 1926. He was married to Nicki Harris at the Little Brown Chruch, Nashua, in August, 1928.

The couple farmed between Bennett and Tipton before moving to Tipton in 1969. He was bailiff for the Cedar county district court from 1970 to 1983.

Mr. Schnack was a member of the United Methodist church, the Tipton Golf and Country club, The Moose Lodge and the University of Iowa Scholarship Fund association.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Sally) Gephart, Eagen, Minn. and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
