Funeral services for Mrs. Frank W. (Clara) Hinkhouse, 97, were held at the Friends church, West Branch, May 20 with the Revs. Keith Howorth and Nancy English officiating. Burial was in the Springdale cemetery. Mrs. Hinkhouse died at the Simpson Memorial home, West Liberty, May 16.

The daughter of Albanus and Mary Fogg Pearson, she was born in Cedar county April 16, 1889. She married Frank W. Hinkhouse at the family farm June 6, 1912. He died in 1968.

She was a birthright member of the Society of Friends, a charter member of the Springdale Self-Culture club and was active in the Farm Bureau and 4-H.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Dorothy Powell, Edwardsville, Ill. and Helen Simmons, Peoria, Ariz.; 2 sons, Herbert, West Branch and William, West Liberty; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a half-brother, John Pearson, Jackson, Mich. and a half-sister, Laura Frank, Anamosa.
