1878 Cedar Co. History Sugar Creek twp pg 720. Furst, Thomas farmer Sec. 28 PO Sugar Creek Mills. Owns 179 acres of land valued at $45 per acre. Born in Center Co., Penn in 1817, came to Iowa in 1866 and located in Farmington twp, Cedar Co. Removed to his present farm in 1868. Married Amanda D. Pellman in 1842, she was born in Union Co., Penn in 1821 and died in April 1876. Have 5 children- C.P., T.I., Anna E., Lizzie W., and O.J. Mr. F. has held the office of Town Trustee. Is a member of the Presbyterian Church. Republican.
