1878 Cedar Co. History Rochester twp. Bailey, Gideon, farmer and breeder of Poland-China hogs. Owns 130 acres of land valued at $40 per acre. Born in Columbiana co., OH, in 1838, came to Iowa in 1851 and located on his present farm. Married Jennie M. Thayer in 1860, she was born in NY in 1845, have four children- Ellsworth G., Laura L., Noah E., and George F. Republican.
