TEAM RUNS AWAY WITH FIVE MEN ON WAY TO COUNTRY TO WORK AND TWO ARE INJURED

Wm. Goodale had his back injured, his shoulder bruised, and he was otherwise battered up, and G. H. Chenoweth, who lives at Seventh and Chestnut streets, dislocated one of the small bones in his back and was badly bruised about the head, causing concussion of the brain; his injuries rendering him unconscious for several hours, in a runaway accident which occurred about three o-clock Sunday afternoon.

Messrs. Chenoweth, Goodale, C. A. Day, H. H. Wilson and Peter Stolley were in a spring wagon on the way to the country to work when near the Stark Bros. nursery east of the city a bolt slipped out of the tongue and the horses started to run. Mr. Goodale was driving and was thrown out and Mr. Chenoweth, who had started to jump out, was thrown violently to the ground by the wagon running into a ditch. The team, which was from the Petit livery stable, freed of the wagon, ran eastward, and was caught later near the cemetery.

Mr. Goodale is much improved today (Monday) and will be all right in a short time. Mr. Chenoweth is more seriously injured and it will take him several weeks to recover, but it is not anticipated but that he will be himself again in time. He was in a semi-conscious condition several hours but had regained consciousness today. Dr. C. D. Finley is attending him.
