Mrs. Frank (Mary) Gute, 85, of Carroll, formerly of Odebolt, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Carroll Health Center. She had been ill about six months.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Church in Maple River by the Rev. Richard Birdsall. Interment will be in the Maple River Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of the Twit Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be recited Thursday at 3, 8, and 8:45 p.m.

Mrs. Gute, daughter of Frank and Christina Pawletzki, was born at Maple River on May 12, 1888, and was married there to Frank Gute on April 30, 1912. She came to Carroll from Odebolt in April of this year. She was a member of St. Francis Church, Maple River.

Surviving are two sons, Alfred H. of Carroll and C. J. of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Martha) Konradi of Odebolt; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Laura) Meyer and Mrs. John (Ann) Fendrich, both of Carroll.

Mrs. Gute was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Julia.
