In the parlors of the hotel Columbia in Lake City, on Thursday evening, May 4, 1899, at 9 o’clock, occurred the marriage of Mary E. Lochner of Carroll county, and A. J. McDermott, of this city, Rev. G. W. Carr, of the Lohrville M. E. church officiating, about 25 of the near relatives and friends of the contracting parties being present. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alice Lochner, and has lived in Carroll county for over eighteen years where she has the good will and respect of the entire community where she has grown to womanhood and her many friends wish her much joy and happiness in the new life that she is just entering. She was gowned in a beautiful tan colored dress trimmed in pink silk and white pearl. She carried pink and white roses and the same flowers adorned her hair. The groom was attired in black broadcloth, the event occurring on his birthday. A. J. McDermott has been a resident and business man of this place for upwards of twenty years. He has always been prominent in every undertaking that has been inaugurated for the upbuilding of town and county. He has prospered in business and is able and competent to make a happy home for the lady of his choice. His many friends here and elsewhere join with us in wishing him every blessing possible. The happy couple left on the first train for the west, stopping first at Sioux City, from whence they will make a short wedding tour, through Nebraska and the Dakotas, returning by May 15, after which date they will be at home in Lohrville, to their many friends. -Lohrville Enterprise.
