Mr. & Mrs. E.E. Wilder 50th Wedding Anniversary

The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Wilder will be celebrated at their home in Allison on Wednesday of this week.. Immediate relatives including their five children and their families will be guests at the noon dinner. They are: Mrs. Arthur Neal of Bristow; Dana Wilder of Waterloo, George and Harry Wilder of Allison, and Fred Wilder of Bristow. There will be a reception from one to three o’clock for cousins and other distant relatives, and there will be open house for all their friends from three to five o’clock.

Mr. Wilder’s two sisters, Mrs. Isadore Burnham of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Ray Norcott of Waterloo, and his brother, Baxter C. Wilder and family, Eau Claire, will be among the guests.

Mrs. Wilder, daughter of Thomas and Clarissa Priestly, was born at Dixon, Illinois, November 22, 1863, and came to Butler county with her parents when about six years old, making the trip in a covered wagon. They purchased a farm three miles northeast of Allison. This same farm is now occupied by the George Wilder family.

Mr. Wilder was born at Wallingford, Vermont, March 1, 1862, and came to Butler county when 20 years old, making his home with an uncle, Ben Priest on the Yarcho farm.

They were married at the Priestly home on March 29, 1883. They went to Vermont for a couple of years and then returned to this community, where they retired from farming and moved to their present residence in Allison.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilder have always taken an active part in community interests. Mr. Wilder has been a director of the Butler County Fair Association for 35 years and a director of the bank since 1920. His favorite sport is horseshoe pitching.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Wilder enjoy good health. Their many friends extend congratulations in this happy occasion of their life.
