E. Wiechman, a member of the present board of trustees, settled in Washington in 1874. He is a native of Germany, born September, 1848. When but eight years of age his parents emigrated to the United States, and settled in Ogle county, Illinois, where he lived until he moved to this township, where he bought land in section 35. He has improved the land, and built the house in which he now lives. He was married in 1871 to Miss Cornelia Hayenga. They had three children – Cornelius, Kate and Annie.
