Dorathea A. (Lampe) Griffel was born at Sebbenhausen, Nienburg Province, Hanover, Germany on the 18th, day of June, 1849 and died on the 12th day of October, 1914, at the age of 65 years 3 months and 22 days. She emigrated to this country in March, 1871 locating at Lombard, Illinois. She united in marriage to Dietrich Griffel at York Center, Ill., in the year 1872, to which union ten children were born of which all are living. They moved to the farm north of Newell in the year 1876, where they lived until 1903, when the husband died, since which time she has resided with her son William Griffel. She leaves to mourn her departure 3 sons, 7 daughters and one brother, one sister and 24 grand children.
