Michael James “Mike” Haley, 60, of Jesup, IA, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025,
at Unity Point Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, IA.

Mike was born on September 10, 1964, in Macomb, Illinois, the son of James Noble and Phyllis M.
(Hershberger) Haley. He attended Midwestern Prairie High School Wellman, IA until 10th grade. Michael worked with his mother as a cook at a truck stop in Coralville Iowa. Later Michael started working in construction. He was a subcontractor for 32 years. In 2012, Mike started driving as an over the road truck driver for Midwest Transport until July of 2024.

Mike loved having a good time. When he wasn’t working, he was often on a golf course, at the casino with friends or cooking a large meal for his family. He was an avid lover of football; his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved all of the Rocky series; he could quote every line. He will always be remembered for his strong will, kindness, humor and as a loving, stern, but stubborn man.

Mike is survived by his girlfriend, Joan Hamilton, Jesup, IA, his children: Michaela Haley Holy Cross, IA, Autumn Haley, Dubuque, IA, and stepdaughter, Brittney (Devin) Brecht, Independence, and granddaughter, Briella Brecht, and several nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Noble and Phyllis (Haley) Hershberger, and his
sister and brother: Deona Ware and Robert Haley. His two Aunts Geraldine Simpson and Sarah Judd
and his three Uncles, Robert and Keith and John Haley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
