Died of His Injuries.
Cedar Falls. June 8.—W. H. French, the laborer who was run over and crushed by a trolley car on the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Interurban line, died at 7 o'clock this morning of his injuries. From what can be learned French was in a state of complete intoxication when last seen prior to the accident, and when walking home had laid down on the tracks and gone to sleep. As he was lying between the rails the first trucks of the car passed over without striking the man, but the noise awakened French so that he twisted completely across the tracks in front of the rear trucks, which removed the right arm and fractured the skull. He leaves a wife and four children, the youngest being but seven days old.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows his middle initial as A. It shows he was born June 30, 1869 and is buried in Willow Lawn Cemetery in Plainfield.
