Clarence Mahew and two sons, Elmer and Chester, were drowned near Vinton while swimming.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name is spelled Mayhew. Clarence was born in 1874, Elmer in 1900 and William Chester in 1905. They are buried in the Mound Cemetery.
