Lloyd J. Stiegelmeyer dies at age 66

TIMESNEWS - Lloyd J. Stiegelmeyer, 66, retired farmer died early this morning at the Virginia Gay Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 14, 1911 near Mount Auburn, a son of Wesley and Mathilda Schadle Stiegelmeyer. He was married in February, 1938 in Vinton to Ruth Harrison, who died in May, 1961. He married Ione Fry at Toledo on June 17, 1969.

Surviving are his wife; one son, John, of rural Vinton; one stepson, Craig Fry, of Vinton; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Garrison, with the Rev. Harley Carbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Campbell-Russell Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established.
