AUDUBON COUNTY
PIONEER GONE

George Fenstermacher, age 73
years, of 1175 Wisconsin street,
died (s)uddenly at 6:30 o'clock last
night while riding in a car driven
by his son-in law, on the road about
six miles north of Huron(.) Physicians
attribute his death to heart
failure.

Mr. Fenstermacher was sitting in
the automobile and had, up to the
time of his death, been in the best
of spirits. He was not feeling ill
in the least, and had been laughing
and conversing with his companions
in the car while driving along
the road. Just before he collapsed,
he suddenly placed his hand to his
heart and made the remark that
his heart seemed to be fluttering in
a queer manner. These were his
last words according to those, who
were in the automobile with him.
He dropped forward and when the
car could be stopped and he was
raised to a sitting position again,
he had ceased to breathe.--Huron (SD)
paper.

Mr. Fenstermacher came to Iowa
in early days and spent about thirty-five
years of his life in Audubon
county. He then sold out and
went to Colorado, residing there
three years, moving then to Huron,
South Dakota, where he lived until
his death.

Mr. Fenstermacher lived a true
and devoted Christian life. He
leaves to mourn his loss seven children,
twenty-four grandchildren
and four great grandchildren.

Note: Parents of George Albert Fenstermacher, Sr. were Peter Fenstermacher and Eliza Riegel. George was married first to Susannah "Susan" Bloom and married second to Susan's sister, Maria Bloom.
