Saint Boniface School has just
completed its most successful year
since its opening in 1891. There were
seventy-seven pupils in attendance
during the last ten months. The
congregation of Saint Boniface
church is highly pleased at the success
of this school, not only because
of the numbers attending, but also
because of the really satisfactory
and efficient work accomplished by
the good Sisters. The great sacrifice,
both pecuniary and otherwise,
brought by the Rev. Pastor and the
noble Sisters is greatly appreciated
by all members of that church as
well as by the parents of the pupils.
Tomorrow, Friday, June 24th, the
school will close with a picnic in
Herrick's Grove. The closing
exercises were conducted today. Thursday.
of the school and prizes were
distributed for deportment to Cecelia
Tharnish. a fine statuette of St.
Joseph; to Lizzi Schmidt, a statuette
of the Blessed Virgin; for best
general average, to Hattie Stager
and to Lillie Kommes each a beautiful
pin of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus; for German, to Anna Spoo
and to Susie Richter, each a Prayer
Book; for attendance (not missing a
single day during the ten months)
to Mary Williams and Owari Kassinnanoron
and Lizzie Schmitz, each
a handsome holy pitcher in frame;
for being most regular in serving Mass.
to Albert Rieff, Barney Martes
and Willie Hochstetter, each a
Silver Medal. The benefit that this
school is to Exira cannot be over
estimated by our citizens. Z. (Father Zaiser)
