Monday morning when Fre Anders
went to the barn to give his
mules their morning rations, one
of his mules thinks it must always
be fed first and Mr. Anders had always
humored it but thought he
would see what it would do if he
fed the other one first and it became
so angry that it kicked at him hit-
ting him on the limb and this
frightened the other animal caus-
ing him to jump and throwing the
chain with which it was tied across
Mr. Ander's face and cutting an
ugly three cornered gash just below
the eye.

Note: Fremont N. "Free" Anders (1850-1929) was married to Barbara Elizabeth Baylor (1847-1935).
