Are Reunited In MoultonHow does it feel to meet your sister after having been separated from her for 42 years? "Just great," is the way Mrs. Lena
(Hurd) Logston described it to a Tribune reporter last Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Logston of Wilmington, Delaware in company with her daughter, Mrs. Irene Toulson of Albuquerque,
N. M., were in Moulton to renew acquaintance with Mrs. Logston's sister, Mrs. Mae Jenkins.
It was the story of sisters, separated in childhood and placed in different homes when the parents passed away while the children were small. Mrs. Logston was six weeks old and Mrs.
Jenkins was six years of age when the mother died. The latter was brought to Moulton and reared in the Ben Fox home. She married Bill Jenkins at the age of 23. Mr. Jenkins died several years ago. Since then she has made her home in Moulton. At the age of three months Lena was taken into the Charley Hurd home where she was reared. For a time they lived in
Oklahoma but returned to Moulton when Lena was 11 years old. She graduated with the class of 1911 which held its reunion during the alumni banquet. She became a school teacher and after
her foster mother's death in 1918 she located in the east.
The method of Mrs. Logston regaining contact with her sister is quite unusual. Recently she wrote Glenn Eagle to ascertain f there was a marker at her mother's grave. The plot was located in Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Luther Horn was also contacted who directed them to Mrs. Mae Jenkins and it was then discovered that Mrs. Logston and Mrs. Jenkins were sisters. Mrs. Jenkins then wrote Mrs. Logston and the correspondence resulted in the meeting here last week.
