Miss Laura Roese, whose illness of some months has been briefly noted in these columns, passed away Friday at the Roese homestead in Center township. A trained nurse was in attendance the last several weeks and everything possible done to alleviate her sufferings. Death was the result of a complication of asthma and dropsy.

Miss Roese was aged 66 years and said to possess a most lovable personality by those who knew her best. The Roese home was proverbial for its hospitality and good cheer in the pioneer days and none the less so in later years when presided over by the sisters Laura and Sophia and their brother Charles.

Her brother Edward came from North Dakota to be with her in her last hours.

Interment took place Monday in the family vault on the premises, where repose the ashes of her parents and one brother.
