Northeast Kansas Scene of Tragedy
Seneca, Kan. (AP)—Two cars collided near here killing 6 and injuring two others.
The accident occurred 3 1/2 miles east of Seneca, in northeast Kansas, on U. S. Highway 36.
Killed were Mack Henry Hansen, 49, driver of one of the cars, of Lakewood, Calif.; Hansen’s wife Phyllis Acker Hansen, 47; Dale H. Acker, 47 of Greenfield, Ia., Mrs. Hansen’s brother, and Mrs Margaret Acker, 36, also of Greenfield, wife of Wayne Acker, another brother of Mrs Hansen’s.
Wayne Acker was hospitalized here with a leg fracture and other injuries Donald Acker, 3, son of Margaret and Wayne Acker, escaped with bruises.
Also killed were Urie Smirl, about 51, driver of the second car, and Lewis M. Thompson, about 75, both of Seneca.
