Solomon Ritz was a Lutheran clergyman and traveled extensively throughout Ohio, Illinois and Iowa.  Family lore states this family helped to build the Little Brown Church in the Vale (Nashua, IA).

Husband: Joseph Ritz, b.  1817 PA (they spelled it Ritts in later years)

Wife: Mary Hay, b. 1826 PA

1854 moved family to Iowa, Chickasaw Co.

Brother of Solomon:

Husband: Michael Ritz, b. 22 Feb 1822 PA, (they spelled it Ritts in later years)

Wife:  Margaret Winebrenner, 1830

1854 Iowa, Bradford, Chickasaw Co.

 

Some of their children eventually moved to Black Hawk Co but in later generations they were scattered all over the state of Iowa
