Benson, Beals and Kennedy Family

On November 3, 1863, BERNARD KENNEDY married SARAH JANE BEALS at Waterloo, Blackhawk Co. They were married by James George, Justice of the Peace.

Bernard was wounded before Atlanta, GA on July 22, 1864 and subsequently died at Andersonville Prison on August 10, 1864. They had one son-JAMES BERNARD KENNEDY.

SARAH JANE KENNEDY (NEE BEALS) married my great-grandfather SAMUEL FREEMAN BENSON on September 13, 1866 in Benton Co., Iowa. They had a number of children, one of which was my grandfather CLARENCE M. BENSON.
