Young Folks Were Married At Waterloo
Miss Florence Eckhart and Frank Stahr, two well know Vinton young people, were married Wednesday afternoon of last week at Waterloo. The wedding took place at three o'clock at the home of Rev. Clyde J. Askins, pastor of the First Baptist church, who performed the ceremony. The bride and groom were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sauer, of Waterloo,, the former an uncle of the bride, in whose home they remained until Saturday night.
With the exception of the family of the bride the young couple took no one into their confidence, and the result was that the wedding came as a surprise to their many friends in Vinton.
The bride is the eldest daughter of Mrs. Maggie Eckhart, who moved to Vinton some years ago from a farm near La Porte. She is a young lady with practical ideas and has a large circle of warm friends who are interested in her marriage and will extend best wishes.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sthar, of Dysart. Previous to the world war, in which he served for two years with a regiment of engineers, he was employed as plumber at Gale Hardware store, and he resumed his work there upon his return. Later he worked for the Iowa Hardware Co. He expects to continue his work in Vinton and he and his bride will make their home here. They returned Saturday night from Waterloo, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sauer, and for the present are staying with the bride's mother.
The Eagle joins in extending congratulations and best wishes.
