Bertha Grady's Marriage To William B. McDonald, a Summer Romance of the Rockies
An announcement which will come as a pleasant surprise to the friends of the bride, is that of the marriage of Miss Bertha Grady to Mr. William B. McDonald which was solemnized at Saleda, Colorado. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. B. White of St. Joseph's Church in the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Paul Morehouse. The bride had been spending the summer in Colorado and the marriage is the culmination of a romance which began after her arrival in Colorado. The groom is a wealthy ranchman of near Doyleville in that state and was in the service twenty-eight months, serving in the navy in the radio service. Eleven months of this period were spent in England.
The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Grady of this city. She is a graduate of the Belle Plaine High School, being a member of the Class of 1917. Following her graduation she taught school with marked success and last year was principal of the schools at Clutier. She is a young lady of unusual mental attainment and prepossessing appearance, and withal, most charming.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence McDonald of Gunnison, Colorado. Following his graduation from the high school he completed the course in the Parks Business College before going into the cattle business in which he has attained large success.
Mr. and Mrs. McDonald enjoyed a honeymoon trip which took them to Denver, Colorado Springs and Salt Lake City. They are now at home on their ranch near Doyleville, but later in the fall expect to make a visit here in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grady, parents of the bride.
The many friends of the bride in Belle Plaine will wish the young couple best wishes for a happy and properous life together.
