Double Wedding Wednesday P. M.
Two Couples Are Wed At Local Evangelical Church.
The double wedding ceremony of Miss Bernice Hartz to Hiram Lanam and Miss Helen Plagmann to Milford Hartz was solemnized on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 1 p. m. at the Evangelical church in Blairstown. With the Rev. E. R. McCllelland officiating.
Preceding the ceremony Rev. W. D. Winter sang "I Love You Truly" accompanied by Miss Clara Thorman who also played the wedding march. Mrs. Lanam wore a navy blue crepe gown with matching accessories and Mrs. Hartz wore a rust color knit suit with matching accessories and both brides wore corsages of roses and sweetpeas. The two couples were unattended and only a group of relatives and close friends witnessed the ceremony.
Mrs. Lanam and Mr. Hartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hartz of Blairstown were graduated from the Blairstown high school with the classes of 1928 and 1932 respectively. Mrs. Hartz graduated from the Conroy high school with the class of 1932, and Hiram Lanam graduated from the Belle Plaine high school with the class of 1928.
The wedding which was attended by relatives and close friends of the two couples occurred on the 28th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hartz. Mr. and Mrs. Lanam will live on the Roy Thompson farm northeast of Blairstown and Mr. and Mrs. Hartz will operate the home place northeast of town. Mr. and Mrs. Hartz will move into the home they have bought in Blairstown.
