Kern home near Blairstown
HAVE DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kern and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Back Celebrate Twin Anniversaries.
One of the events of the Christmas season was the double celebration of the 25th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kern and the 5th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Back. Mrs. Back is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kern. The event took place at the Kern home. At noon a sumptuous dinner was served to the near relatives of the family.
The party at that time consisted of Mrs. Mary Miner, Miss Mable Miner, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Miner and son, Mr. and Mrs. James Miner and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miner and family of Cedar Falls, Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Radeke and daughter, Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Radeke, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Radeke, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Jhonson [sic], Mr. and Mrs. Eldo Mayhew.
Late in the afternoon the neighbors and friends of the family began to arrive in large numbers until the spacious house was well filled.
At the supper hour a bountiful repast was spread to which all did ample justice.
After supper the time was spent in visiting and dancing until a late hour, when the happy throng departed for their homes wishing Mr. and Mrs. Kern and Mr. and Mrs. Back many more anniversaries.
