Belle Plaine
Married.
John Chatterton, Jr., of Clinton, and Anna M. Scherble, one of Belle Plaine's fair and highly esteemed young ladies were united in marriage at the home of the bride's father by Rev. Stapleton on Wednesday last. The bridegroom is an estimable young man in the employ of the Chicago & North-Western R. R. Co. The bride is well known in this city. A sumptuous repast was served. Choice and valuable presents adorned the side table. A deputation from the Daughters of Rebekah waited upon the newly married couple, expressing their good wishes and presented them with a beautiful cake basket. They left for Clinton on the evening train and will make their future home in Anamosa. The Lever extends to them along with others their congratulations. May they live happily and enjoy prosperity.
