MISS GLADYS RICE IS MARRIED TO L. BERRY

Miss Gladys Rice and Lloyd L. Berry were married Wednesday evening at eight o’clock by Rev. A. B. Chamberlain of Urbana at the home of the bride’s parents five miles northeast of Vinton, in the presence of the immediate family of the bride and and groom and a few friends including four friends of the bride. Miss Mildred Lewis of Osage and Misses Linnie Shotwell, Leone Thiessen and Ruth Bolenbaugh. The house was beautifully decorated in pink and white and the ceremony was said in front of a bank of flowers and ferns. The bride and groom were attended by the groom’s sister Miss Fern Berry and Mr. Byrl Bunten. A three course wedding supper was served and the color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the menue and table decorations.

The bride has lived all her life in and near Vinton having graduated from the Vinton High School and later from the State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and afterward was one of the most successful teachers in the rural schools. She is one of the charming young ladies of the county.

Mr. Berry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Berry and has always made his home with his parents on their farm four miles northeast of Vinton. He is a graduate of Tilford Academy and returned last spring after several months of service in the army in France. He has been successful in his chosen work as a farmer and he and Mrs. Berry will begin their home making on a farm seven miles northeast of Vinton and their many friends will wish them much happiness and success.
