Elmer E Young
Elmer E. Young, 79 a former resident near Palo, well known in Cedar Rapids died at his home near Sebeka, Minn. at 2:30 PM friday from a heart attack. He is survived by his wife Emma, and five children, George Young and Mrs Everett Owens of Palo, Roy of San Diego, Thomas of Vinton and Elmer of Owein. There are 24 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren and a brother O. V. Young of Shellsburg. The body was brought to Cedar Rapids and funeral services will be held in the Beatty chapel at 2 PM. Wednesday. Burial will be the family lot in Palo cemetery.

George Young
George Young died on the 19th inst., and was burried in Yankee Grove Cemetery. About $200 of his money mysteriously disappeared after he was taken sick. It is not likely that he spent it for stong drink, as intimated by some.

Obituary
Jesse Edward Young
Jesse Edward Young was the son of James H. and Mary Young. He was born at Chetopa, Kansas, November 16, 1891 and died September 24, 1916 at Nevada, iowa, death being caused by electrocution. His mother died when he was two years old of age and he made his home with his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Baum of Garrison until two years ago. He leaves four half sisters and two half brothers as follows: Miss Hattie Young of Marshalltown, Ia, Mrs. Susie Tracy of Philipsburg, Kansas, L.J. Young in the Philippine service, Murray Young of Gooding, Idaho, Mrs. Jennie Spoelstra of Bruggsdale, Colorado, and Mrs. Emma Maxwell of Montana. There are also a number of aunts and uncles, John and Calvin Baum of Garrison being uncles. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the John Baum home in Garrison and the body interred in the Carlyle Grove cemetery beside the mother. Miss Hattie Young, the sister living in Marshalltown attended the funeral.

Mary Young
Last Friday night Calvin Baum and Mrs. John Barum returned from Kansas where they had been called by the death of Mrs. Mary Young, a sister of the Messrs. Baum of this place. They in company with the husband, J. H. Young, brought the remains here for burial. The funeral took place in the M.E. church at 11 o'clock a.m. conducted by Rev. Neville, of the United Bethren church. The burial took place at the Carlisle Grove cemetery. The church was filled to overflowing and some had to go away as they could not get in the home. Mrs. Young was about 35 years. She was raised, near Garrison and was a successful school teacher, having taught in this vicinity a number of years and consequently had a wide acquaintance and a large number of friends. The pall bearers were young men of her own age. She leaves a husband and the little boy two years old to mourn her death, besides mother, brothers and sisters and a host of friends who sympathize with the family in their affliction. }
