Services Held Monday for Blanche Williams
Blanche Williams
Mrs. Blanche Williams, 83, died Friday evening, Dec. 27, at a Cedar Rapids Hospital
She was born Dec. 31, 1884, the daughter of Daniel and Melissa Montague, on a farm southeast of Norway, and had lived in this community all her life. She was the widow of Gene Williams, who died May 29, 1945
Mrs. Williams was correspondent for the Cedar Rapids Gazette and WMT and KCRG radio for many years, and news reporter for the Benton County Star for 11 years, retiring in August of 1967. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America Grace Camp No. 1632 at Norway
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Henry and Archie Montague
She is survived by: one sister, Mrs. Clio Primrose, Atkins; a niece, Mrs. John Meland, Newhall; and two nephews, Glen and Ernest Montague, California
Funeral service were held Monday, Dec. 30, 1968, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist Church in Norway. Rev. O. L Allison, Cedar Rapids, officiated at the services. Mrs. Harold Brockschink provided the organ music. Wayne Riley was usher
Pallbearers were Robert Montague, Sidney Wiese, Harold Brockschink, Noble Brockschink, Donald Trumbull and Evard Montague. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Norway.

Edward Zane Williams
"Edward Zane Williams was born in Coshocton Co Ohio Feb 16,1846and died Nov 2,1922at the age of 76 years. He was the son of Isaac Z and Susan Williams. he was united in marriage to Julia Ann Harger and to this union were born thirteen children. They are Mrs Jane Williamsof Lansing Iowa, Mrs Damaris Waggaman of Tipton Iowa, Edward O of Shellsburg, George W. of Urbana, H. David of Mt Auburn, , Mrs Ethal Richart of Vinton, Mrs Lucy Roll of Walker, Richard A of Shellsburg, Mrs Valva Margas of Rock Island, Illinois. Albert, Ida, Zena and a Baby died in infancy. He is survived by three sisters, Izetta Simpsonand Clara Riley of Cedar Rapids, Mrs Susan barton of Malone New York. There is one brother living Theodore of Cedar Countyand a half-brother Elza of Shellsburg. Two brothers Thomas and Charles have preceded him in death. His faith ful wife died four years ago leaving him alone in the home. He was a loyal husband and kind father.
There are thirty-seven Grandchildren and thirteen Great Grand children. Many attended the funeral He served all four years in the Civil War, belonging to Co B, 59, Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was forever faithful to his flag.

Burial Made in Wisconsin Beside His Parents.
John Williams, the brother of Dr. J. A. Williams, quietly went the way of unreturning last Sunday, January 2, 1927, about noon, having died at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Williams of this city.
The funeral services were held from the Driscoll chapel on Monday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. J. B. Ackman, minister of Christ Methodist Episcopal church.
Mr. John Williams was born at Edgerton, Wis., on September 20th, 1860. Here he grew to manhood. For many years he had his home with his mother. After her death, which occurred in 1904, he has made his home with Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Williams. He was a man of good habits, and a man who was especially interested in the children and young folks and was generally beloved by them.
October 29, 1905 he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church on confession of faith, under the pastoral supervision of the Rev. J. Q. Robinson. Of that church he was a loyal member until the time of his death.
For a number of years he has been in ill health. A few weeks ago he fell and broke his arm and shoulder. The shock was too severe on his heart and thus he quietly slept away on January 2nd, 1927 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Williams.
He is being survived by his brother, Dr. J. A. Williams, one of the physicians of this city, three nieces and one nephew of Beloit, Wis., one nephew of Des Moines and one nephew at Iowa City as well as other relatives and friends.
He body was taken to Edgerton, Wis. on Monday night accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. Williams and interment was made in the family lot beside his parents.

Julia Williams
Julia Harger, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wash Harger, was born in Coshocton county, Ohio December 16, 1851, and died at her home in Shellsburg April 19, 1918. She married Edward Zane Williams in 1869. Of the 13 children born to this union four passed away in infancy. The other nine survive the mother, as follows; Mrs Jennie Williams, LaCrosse, Wisc., Mrs. Damarus Wagamon, of Tipton, Iowa, Mrs. Velva Miller, of Davenport, Iowa, George, David and Mrs. Lucy Roll, of Urbana, Edward of Shellsburg, Richard, of Eden Township, and Mrs. Ethel Richart, of Benton Township. All of the children were with her during her last illness, which lasted for several weeks. Every means was tried to prolong her life but on Friday evening her spirit quietly took flight.
Besides the husband and children are left to mourn 35 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hanover of Florida and Mrs. Viola Brumwell of Grand Island, Neb., four brothers, John Harger of Kentucky, Morrow Harger of Center Point, George of Benton Township, and Henry of Shellsburg.
The funeral was held at the Baptist church in Shellsburg Sunday April 21, at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Nichols, assisted by Rev. Gulledge. In spite of the storm there was a large attendance to pay their last respects to one who had lived a long useful life. Interment was in the Shellsburg Cemetery.

"Funeral services for Mrs Ed Williams Sr were held Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church. Rev. Nichols officiated. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery. Jane Harger was born in Coshocton County Ohio. She came to Benton County when she was a child and in 1867 was united in marriage to Edward Williams. She was the mother of twelve children, eleven of ehom survive. The Husband and thirty Grandchildren also survive. For many years Mrs Williams has been totally blind and bore her affliction with patience. Death was due to diabetes and she has been confined to her bed for two months"

Jane came to Shellsburg with her parents in the fall of 1855, She was three years ols. Jane was married to Edward Zane Williams on April 19,1868 in Vinton. She died at her home on Commercial Street in Shellsburg. }

Minnie Williams
Vinton - Rites for Mrs. Minnie Williams, 58, who died Saturday at the Vinton hospital after a lingering illness, where here Tuesday; nee Minnie E. Harwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harwood, Sept. 14, 1891, in Cherokee county, Iowa; married to Burr Williams at Garrison in December, 1917; he died in 1928; leaves two daughters and a son. Mars. Harley Downs and Lester Williams, Vinton, and Mrs. Martin Schultz, Garrison; Lee Harwood and Earl Harwood, Dysart, are brothers; there are four grandchildren.
