Emillie Watson
Vinton, Oct. 20 - The remains of the late Mrs. Emillie Watson were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery Saturday morning. Mrs. Watson was the widow of the late Samuel H. Watson, one of the early pioneers of this city. Deceased was born in Ohio in 1831. She was married in 1849 and located in Vinton in 1856. For a number of years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. D. G. Ramsey, of Chicago and her death occurred there.

Samuel H. Watson
Vinton - Dr. Samuel H. Watson, 70, died Thursday at Tucson, Ariz., Vinton relatives were informed; nationally known authority on tuberculosis, he operated a widely known clinic at Tucson; suffered a stroke last summer from which he never recovered; born in Vinton Mar. 15, 1977, and was a grandson of the late Samuel H. Watson, pioneer Vinton banker and prominent citizen here for many years; married at Blairstown, Ia., Oct. 1, 1906; to Jane Shreeves, sister of Russell Shreeves of Vinton, who survives; was the last surviving member of his immediate family; after practicing medicine at Blairstown for a short time he went to Tucson in 1916; funeral was Friday in Tucson and temporary burial will be there; in the spring the body is to be brought to Vinton for reburial in Evergreen Cemetery.
