Agnes Urmy, Once of Garrison, Dies
Miss Agnes Urmy

Agnes Carolyn Urmy, 94 a resident of the Vinton Nursing home the past year, died there Saturday evening. She was formerly of Garrison.

Funeral services will be held at l:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fry and Holland funeral home with Rev. Ben Sinderson officiating. Interment will be in Yankee Grove cemetery near Garrison...

Miss Urmy was born January 15, 1870, a daughter of Jonathan L. and Harriet Turner Urmy. She lived her entire life in Benton County. She was the last member of her immediate family. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Belle Urmy Dies on Way to Hospital
Miss Belle Urmy

Garrison-Miss Belle Urmy about 82, a resident of Garrison since 1920, died Thursday afternoon enroute to the Vinton Hospital after suffering a heart attachk.

She was the daughter of Jonathan and Harriet Turner Urmy and was born near Garrison. She is survived by a sister Agnes of Garrison, and several nieces and nephews, including John Urmy of Garrison, Mrs. Nina Stone of Mt. Auburn, and Mrs. Ed Krug of Dysart. She was a member of the Mt. Auburn Christian Church.

Services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller-Taylor funeral home at Vinton. Burial wil be in the Urmy Cemetery near Garrison...

Funeral in Vinton for Edna Urmay, 46
Miss Edna Urmy

Garrison-Funeral services were held this afternoon at two o'clock in the Fry and Holland funeral home at Vinton for Edna Urmy, 46, of Garrison. Rev. Ben Sinderson, pastor of the Vinton Christian Church, officiated. Burial was in Yankeee Grove Cemetery at Garrison.

Miss Urmy, a daughter of Fred and Emma Criswell Urmy, died at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton Friday. She was born at Garrison July 31, 1917.

Obituary of Mrs. Fred Urmy
Emma Urmy

Emma Criswell was born at Garrison, Iowa July 16, 1891 and died at her home in Monroe Township, Benton County, Iowa, March 23, 1923 at the age of 31 years, 7 months, and 16 days, following a brief illness.

She grew to womanhood in this vicinity of her birthplace and March 12, 1911 at Marion, Iowa she was married to Fred Urmy. To them were born five children, two of them preceded their mother in death. She leaves to mourn for her, besides her husband, three children, Florence aged 11 years, Edna Mae, aged 5, and Harvey, age 3. She is survived by three brothers, John, Orville, and Fed Criswel, of Garrison and two sisters Mrs. Dorsey of South Dakota and Mrs. Mary Campbell of California.

Mrs. Urmy's life was spent in the neighborhood in which she was born and here she found work. To the best of her ability she cared for her husband and children and they have lost a good wife and mother, and those who lived near have lost a good neighbor. The sympathy of the community goes out to the family in its bereavement.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 25, conducted by Rev. S.C. Bretnall of Dysart, and the body was laid away in the Urmy cemetery in Yankee Grove.-Dysart Reporter

Died-The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Urmy, Saturday, May 2d at their home in Monroe Township. The funeral was held at the Shaffer school house, Sunday, May 3d at 2 p.m.; burial at Yankee Grove Cemetery conducted by Rev. J. Haymond.

Jacob F. Urmy, 80, Dies at Nursing Home
Jacob F. Urmy

Jacob Frederick Urmy, 80, died Tuesday morning at the Lohr nursing home in Vinton after a brief illness.

Urmy was born in Monroe township near Dysart November 28, 1872. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Urmy. He married Emma Criswell in 1917 in Dysart. She died 1922. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Howard Moore of California, Edna Urmy of Vinton and John Urmy of Dysart, two grandchildren and two sisters, Belle and Agnes Urmy of Garrison. A son and daughter and three brothers and one sister preceded him death.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Miller funeral home Friday after at 1:30. Burial will be in Urmy's cemetery near Dysart...

Jonathan Urmy

Jonathan Urmy, a farmer living 4 miles east of Dysart, died at his home at 4 o'clock Wednesday morning following an extended period of poor health from ailments of old age. Mr. Urmy was past 85 years of age. He was born in Indiana November 8, 1834 and died January 21, 1920. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at l:00 o'clock and interment was made in the family lot in Yankee Grove cemetery.
