Louis P. Tobin
Vinton — Louis P. Tobin, 47. suddenly Monday night at Virginia Gay hospital from uremic poisoning; born in Vinton, Nov. 3, 1897, and had lived his entire life here; graduated from University of Iowa and admitted to practice of law in June, 1921; member of Tobin, Tobin and Tobin law firm; was city attorney longer than any other, man; active in civic affairs and Republican politics; married Virginia Whipple, daughter of State Sen. W. P. Whipple; leaves widow; two daughters, Mary Virginia, 16, and Janet Elizabeth, 10; his father, M. J. Tobin, died May 20, 1945; leaves mother and two brothers, Hamiltqn.and John; veteran of World war I, as second lieutenant; member of American Legion, Presbyterian church, Iowa State Bar association, Masonic lodge, Delta Chi and Phi Alpha Delta fraternities; funeral at the M. J. Tobin home Thursday at 2 p. m.; burial in Evergreen cemetery.
