Donald C. Stallman
Donald C. Stallman, 63, of 2718 75th St. Watkins, died Monday, June 2, 2003, in his home following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, St. Pauls Catholic Church, Newhall, by the Rev. Walt Kleinfehn. Burial: St. Michael's Cemeter, Norway. A vigil service will be held at 7 tonight at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today. Friends may also call after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Wilma; a daughter, Laurie Stallman pf Cedar Rapids, two sons, Kevin (Jennifer) of Grinnell and Aric of Kansas City, Mo; two grandaughters, Allissa and Ashlyn; three brothers, Glenn (Joan) and Marvin (Deanna) both of Cedar Rapids, and Terry (Sue) of Atkins; and seven sisters, Rita (Art) Peck of Fairfield, Mary (Larry) Ockenfels of Swisher, Doris (Edmond) Ballard of Central City, Beatrice (John Shay) Stallman of East Moline, IL and Irene Stallman, Stella (Dick) Bradke and Celestine Duncalf, all of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Edward, Franklin and Louis Jr.
Born August 29, 1939 in Norway, to Louis and Elsie Frimml Stallman, he married Wilma Rubner on April 11, 1970, in Masonville. Donald graduated from Norway High School. He was a Watkins area farmer all of this life and worked at Rockwell Collins for 43 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Newhall.
