Mary Ellen Sherry
Shellsburg Call — Mrs. Mary Ellen Parker was born in Indiana, January 22, 1828, moved to Benton county Iowa, in 1855. She was converted in a series of union meetings held in Shellsburg in 1858, and conducted by Elder Caldwell and Elder King. She was baptised by Elder King soon after the close of those meetings, joined the Baptist church and remained a faithful member until the close of her life.
She was married to Jesse Sherry September 3d 1862 and they walked the journey of life together until November, 1893 when they were parted by death.
