Funeral services for Mrs. lena McNee, 80, were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 19, at 1:30 p.m. in the Methodist church here. Reve. J. B. Ackman was in charge.
Burial was in Mound Cemetery near Watkins.
Mrs. McNee died at her home Wednesday following a long illness.
She was born near Watkins on April 11, 1875, a daughter of the late William and Jane Newton. She attended the old Tilford collegiate academy at Vinton after which she taught school for several years. She married Norman McNee Feb. 24, 1897. She was a member of the Methodist church WSCS, Mystic Star chapter, OES and the Mound Cemetery auxiliar.
Suviving are two sons, Norman and Robert of Watkins, Mrs. Elsie Miller of Atkins, Mrs. Lucille Shellenbarger of Marion and Mrs. Jane Garza of San Antonio, Tex.; five grandchildren, Norman and Ruth Miller of Norway, Gary, Connie and Loralea McNee of Watkins; one great granddaughter, Debra Kay Miller, and one brother, George Newton of Norway.
Milo Melberg, accompanied by Mrs. A. B. Johnson, sang "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
Pallbearers were Donald and Lester Newton of Blairstown.

McNee Rites Held Here Last Sunday - Norman M. McNee
Norman Malcolm McNee
Norman Malcolm McNee, 83, pioneer resident of the Norway and Watkins community, passed away at his farm home last Friday morning. He had been in failing health for some time.
Son of William and Elizabeth McKinnon McNee, he was born Decem66 on the farm whed away. He spent his entire life on the same place. He was the last of a family of five.
He married Lena Newton at Watkins February 24, 1897. Eight children were born to this couple. Three children died in infancy. They celebrated their gold wedding three years ago.
Mr. McNee was a member of the Methodist church in Norway, the Masonic Lode, Eastern Star and was a charter member of the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his widow, two sons, Norman A. and Robert of Watkins; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Miller of Atkins, Mrs. Lucille Shellenbarger of Hartwick and Mrs. Jane Garzo of San Antonio, Texas. Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, May 7, with a prayer services at the home at 2:00 P.M. and at the Methodist Church in Norway with W. C. Cleworth officiating. Marlyn Johnson sang "Gathering Home" and "Saved by Grace". Masonic services were held at the Mound Cemetery at Wakins.
