Obituary.
Lilian Grace Ludde
Lilian Grace Ludde, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ludden, was born at Shellsburg en [typo in original] February 9, 1899 and passed away at the home of her parents on Monday July 29, 1907, being 8 years, 5 months and 20 days of age. Grace was a winsome child and was loved by all who knew her. She was the baby and darling of her home. For several years she has been in delicate health and the tender care bestowed on up her by her loved ones drew them very closely to her. Some two years ago she gave her heart to Jesus. Her life and her testimony for her Saviour has been exceedingly bright for a child of her age. Since the family has resided in Vinton she has been an attendant at the Baptist Sunday school until she was unable to go more. She leaves to mourn her early death her parents, three brothers, Leon, Clifford and John, and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Lyons, Mary and Alice, all of Vinton. While the loved ones left weep they console themselves that she is safe in the arms of Jesus.
Fold her, O Father in thine arms,
And let her henceforth be
A messengerof love between
Our human hearts and thee.
Still let her gentle spirit stand
Between us and the wrong,
And her dear memory serve to make
Our faith in goodness strong.
The funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church in Shellsburg on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., conducted by Pastor A. W. Caul, who was assisted by the Rev. Mr. Patterson of Shellsburg.
