NORWAY Dorothy Mae Hasek Krsek, 82, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, Atkins. Burial: Fairfax Cemetery, Fairfax. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at the church. Phillips Funeral Home, Vinton, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Debra Krsek of Norway; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jeanne and Dale Vogt of Atkins, Barbara and Russell Larson of Milwaukee and Karen and Robert Reiter of Dyersville; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Oct. 27, 1969; a son, Timothy D.; and three sisters, Mildren Morgan, Yvonne Hasek and Betty Newport.
Born Feb. 18, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, to Boleslav and Mary Siska Hasek, she graduated from Grant High School in 1933 and then attended Cedar Rapids Business College. On Aug. 16, 1939, she married Edward J. Krsek in Cedar Rapids. The couple made their home in Norway. For the past 10 years she had resided at Manor Care Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids. Dorothy was a member of the Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary, Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and Fairview Ladies Aid. A very avid reader, she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, needlework, fishing and traveling...
