Obituary.
Alexander Keller
Alexander Keller was born July 16, 1845 in Boone county, Indiana. He fell asleep in Jesus August 9th, 1909. He was married to Lucinda Cottrell December 23, 1868. He leaves to mourn their loss a loving wife, one son and four daughters, all of Vinton, two brothers.
At the age of twenty he gave his heart to God and united with the Wesleyan Methodist church trusting in his Savior in all things. He was a true man and leaves the heritage of good name and was a loving husband and a kind father. He was quite yet no one was more enthusiastic than he for the advancement of every movement that seemed right in the light of God's Book.
He has heard the call of the Master and responded to the summons. In the bereaved home there is a vacant chair, a silent voice. They sorrow not as those who have no hope, they can look forward to that reunion which will come in God's own good time.

Death of Mrs. Alex. Keller.
Lucinda Keller
Miss Lucinda Cottrell was born December 15, 1851, in Madison County, Indiana, and passed away at her home Tuesday morning at 2:30 o'clock.
At the age of three years she moved with her parents to Illinois and lived there two years and then moved to Benton county, Iowa, July 3, 1856, where she resided until death.
She was married to Alex Keller December 23, 1868. As a result of this happy union one son and four daughters were born, all of whom are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. The children are: William Louis Keller, Mrs. J. W. Geater, Mrs. J. L. Jack, Mrs. E. R. Burk, and Miss Cora, all of Vinton and vicinity.
Mrs. Kelly is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Willard Wilkinson of Oakdale, Neb.
At the age of seventeen years Sister Keller gave her heart to her Savior, adorning the faith with a true and pure life. She was a woman of high ideas, always industrious. Her hands were never idle.
She was distinctively a home maker. No sacrifice was ever too great for her to make for her children and around her dying bed gathered all of her children but one (who was sick) watching the lamp of life go out.
There is no language to describe the emptiness and sadness of that home, and the cloud of gloom that over shadows it is beyond measure and they have the heartfelt sympathy of the surrounding community.

William L. Keller
Vinton - William L. Keller, 80, resident of the county north of Vinton all his life. Tuesday after an illness of more than a year; rites Thursday at 2 p. m. from the Fry-Holland funeral home; burial in Bear Creek cemetery north of here; born Oct. 12, 1859 to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Keller, Benton county pioneers, near Vinton; never married; leaves two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Geater and Mrs. Roy Downs, Vinton.
