Mae Elizabeth Hanneman
VINTON: Mae Elizabeth Hanneman, age 96, died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Virginia Gay Annex following an extended illness.
A Mass of The Resurrection will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 11, 2004 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton with Rev. Joseph McGuire as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
Mae was born October 18, 1907 near Keystone to John and Sophia (Pieper) Boisen and attended rural schools. On January 5, 1928 she married Raymond H. Hanneman at Huron, SD.
The couple farmed and raised their family in Benton County... Mae was a member of the Farm Bureau Women and Eden Community Aid. Raymond preceded his wife in death in 1965. Thirty-five years ago, Mae left the farm and moved to Vinton. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society of her Parish.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Waldo Rippel of Mt. Auburn; her sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Ronald and Joanne Hanneman of Coralville, and Dr. Donald and Linda Hanneman of Janesville, WI; her daughter-in-law, Evelyn Hanneman of Vinton; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley McCormick of Vinton; her brothers, Bernard Boisen of Vinton, and Edward Boisen and wife, Rosalyn Boisen of Wisconsin; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Boisen of LeSueur, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward R. Hanneman; grandson, Mark Ronald Hanneman; her brothers, Leo, Donavan and Eldo Boisen; and her sisters, Lillian Schatterman, Adeline Meyer, and Betty Nelson.

Mrs. Hannemann, 82, of Van Horne dies in Vinton Nursing Home

VAN HORNE-Mrs. Mary Hannemann, 82, of Van Horne, died in the Vinton nursing home Sunday afternoon. She had been a resident of the home for three and a half years.
Mrs. Hannemann was born April 16, 1876, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Gathje. She came to America when she was five years old.
On Feb. 6 1895 she married Henry Hannemann who died April 24, 1948. She lived in Eden township after their marriage before retiring to Van Horne where she lived until moving to the nursing home. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran church here.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. George Schueler of Vinton, three sons, Harry and Raymond of Vinton and Charles of Van Horne, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in St. Andrews church. Rev. A. W. Wildening will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery in Eldorado township.
The body is at the Fry and Holland funeral home in Vinton where friends may call after 1:00 p.m., Tuesday. The body will be taken to the church at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday morning. The casket will not be opened after the service.

R.H. Hanneman, Dies at His Home; Rites Thursday
Raymond H. Hanneman
Raymond H. Hanneman, 69, died at 3:30 a.m., today at his farm home. Death was due to complications resulting from a fall six years ago.
Mr. Hanneman was born in Eden township Dec. 21, 1904, a son of Henry and Mary Gathje Hanneman, and married Mae Boisen at Huron, S.D., on Jan. 5, 1928.
Mr. Hanneman was a farmer and lived in the Van Horne-Vinton community his entire life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Edward Hanneman of Vinton, Dr. Ronald Hanneman of Washington, D.C., and Donald Hanneman of Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Waldo (Regina) Rippel of Mt. Auburn; one sister, Mrs. George Schueler of Van Horne, one brother, Charles Hanneman of Van Horne; nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic church in Vinton, with Rev. M.L. Scallon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at Fry and Holland funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after Wednesday.
