Death of Mrs. Durand
Laura A. Durand

Mrs. G. W. Durand died at the old ladies home last Sunday. She was born Aug. 8, 1819. Her maiden name was Laura A. Waterman. She was married to G. W. Durand June 28, 1836. Eleven children were born to her only one of whom is living — Mrs. Kimball, of Greely, Colorado. She has been a resident of Vinton a great many years. The funeral services were held at the home conducted by Dr. Magee assisted by Rev. E. H. Avery. The attendance was large. The deceased was a member of the M. E. church 50 years.

An Aged Woman Dead
Margaret Durand

Mrs. Margaret Durand, a Former Resident of Belle Plaine, Died at Marshalltown.

Mrs. Margaret Durand, a former resident of Belle Plaine, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. 0. McFarlane, in Marshalltown last Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock, of paralysis. Mrs. Durand was 88 years old and had been a sufferer for some time. She has been a resident of Marshalltown for a number of years past, having moved there after the death of her husband, Samuel Durand. The burial service was held in Belle Plaine last Thursday morning.
