John Cue
January 17, 1918: John Cue died suddenly Saturday evening after a illness of one day, the cause of death being heart trouble. The funeral was held at the church Tuesday at 1:30, conducted by Rev. O.M. Johnson and Rev. A. H. Gullege. Burial was in the Shellsburg cemetery. Mr. Cue had lived in this vicinity for years. He leaves his wife and four sons to mourn his death, also a granddaughter, Neva Lewis, who made her home with them until her marriage. Mr. Cue's death came as a great shock, as he appeared in his usual health.
January 24, 1918: John Cue, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cue was born in Linn County March 4, 1856, passed away at his home three miles north of Shellsburg January 12, 1918. His whole life was spent in Linn and Benton counties. He was married to Sibia Gardner at Palo in 1864 and to them four sons were born. Harley, Berdet, Roy and Bird, all of whom are lving. He is also survived by his wife, 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral was held at Oak Grove, Tuesday, January 15, conducted by Rev. O.M. Johnson, assited by local pastor, Rev. A.H. Gullege. Burial was in the Shellsburg Cemetery. Besides the family many friends are left to mourn his sudden death.
