LYLE W. CALDWELL
SHELLSBURG- Lyle W. Caldwell, age 77, died Monday, February 27, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton. Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.
Lyle was born September 20, 1928 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Earl A. and Irene (Westfall) Caldwell. During World War II he served his nation in the US Army. On October 27, 1956 he married Lillian Herman in Dubuque.
For twenty five years, Lyle served as Parking Manager at the Cedar Rapids Airport and he retired in 1994. Lyle was a member of the Eagles Lodge ...
He is survived by his wife, Lillian of Shellsburg; his daughters, Karen Robbins of Shellsburg, Lylelene (Greg) Svoboda of Shellsburg, Sandra (Doc) Booth of Palo, and Naomi (Don) Zeller of Covington; his son, Ben (Rosie) Caldwell of Newton; his grandchildren, Tad. Tim (Robin), Tanna, Adam, and Natalie Caldwell, Tracey (Rob) Windisch, Tricia (Donnie) Thomas, Amy Zeller, Sara (Marty) Diamond, Troy (Jodi) Booth, Tony (Jamie) Booth, Heather (Phillip) Kolek, and Greg Svoboda II; his great-grandchildren, Baillee and Claire Caldwell, Isaiah and Eliot Caldwell, Cori Baker, Robby, Kelsey and Emily Windisch, Aaron and Sebastian Robbins, Zachary Thomas, Micaela and Amara Beussman, Jaxon Diamond, Alexandria and Nick Booth, and Brady and Brock Booth; his brother, Clair (Dorothy) Caldwell of Cedar Rapids; and his special buddy, Tootsie.
His parents and brothers, Earl, Noel, Paul and Dale preceded him in death.
