Shellsburg man dies in accident
Urbana- Kevin Lee Boots, 24 of Shellsburg was killed early Saturday when his motorcyle left Benton County's W 26 1 1/2 miles south of Urbana, according to the Benton Dounty Sheriff Department.
Authorities said the accident occurred about 1 a.m. Saturday, when the southbound cycle veered across the center line, onto the shoulder and traveled 1,300 feet throughy the air, flipping over several times before coming to rest in a cornfield. The wreckage was not found until 10 a.m. Saturday. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.

Kevin Lee Boots 24, of Shellsburg, who worked as a router and repairman at ChemMark in Cedar Rapids, died Saturday in a motorcycle accident near Urbana in Benton County. Survivors are his wife, Jerri; one daughter, Jamie Lynn, at home parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Boots of Route 2, Vinton; three sisters, Lynn Yoch and Debbie Boots, both of Hiawatha, and Lori Ament of Shellsburg; two brothers, Russell of Palo and Scott at the naval base in North Chicago, Ill; grandparents, Herbert Boots, Sr. of Morley, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Comried of Mount Vernon; and and a great-grandmother, Mary Comried of Cedar Rapids.
Services; Wednesday, 11a.m., Phillips from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday... The body was cremated. Private burial services will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg
